David Quemby Continues Onwards and Upwards

David Quemby has continued to break and set new Compound club records. His latest achievements are a new Club Record for the Hereford Round in the Tri-Counties Match at Long Buckby on 2nd October achieving a score of 1206.

On 16th October at Kettering Archers in a Worcester Indoor Competition he set a new Club Record of 293 out of a possible 300, beating his previous club record of 274 set in January this year. This puts David well and truly up with the best of the County Archers. In his second attempt at the Worcester at Kettering, he scored a fantastic 298 – just 2 short of a perfect 300. Unfortunately he is unable to claim this as a record as it was his second shoot of the day. Well done David.

Summer session ends with records

The Club’s records officers have reported 4 records.

At NAC’s end of summer session shoot the following records were set.

Kirsty Stephenson – Longbow – Short National
ladies club record of 103 – the previous county record 67 is also beaten. Well done Kirsty

Tina King – Barebow – Short National
Tina scored 160 at this shoot which does not beat her own club record of 207 however as the previous record was not eligible for county record status (we forgot to register the shoot!!!) this lower score can be submitted as setting a brand new county record. With Tina history of higher scores this record is unlikely to stand for too long

Jamie Hamill-Watts – Junior national – Jnr Gents
New Club Record of 464

Congratulations to all three.

NAC Open Outdoor Tournament 2011

On 31st July 2011, NAC held it’s first open tournament for several years. The shoot was well attended by archers from around the county and beyond.

Several club and county records were broken by NAC members on the day. Mick Lovell has a new Gents Recurve record for a Double National with a score of 1097. Mick scored 535 in the morning and 562 in the afternoon. Our Chairman Dave Taylor set a new Gents Recurve county record for a Double Long National round with 875. 9 year old Jack Barrett set a new Junior Gents Longbow county record for a Junior National round 107. Paul Barret broke the Gents Longbow records for both the single and double National rounds. Paul scored 331 in the morning and 326 in the afternoon to set a new record for the double round with 657. Finally (so far) Heather Major has broken the Ladies Recurve record for a Double Short National round with a score of 659.

Well done to all. And a big thanks to everyone from the club who helped out on the day.
