The NAC Portsmouth competitions have been taking place over the past three months and have proved very popular with all being been fully booked. New records have been set at all three competitions which is fantastic news and a round-up of all three events is written below. It is great to see so many juniors getting involved in the sport and breaking new records – well done to everyone who has set new records! A big Thank you also, to Dave Quemby for all his hard work in organising these great competitions.
NAC 1st Round Portsmouth Competition
The first round of the Portsmouth round was shot on the 16th November 2013 with new records set by Ian Hyde for Gents Flatbow scoring 454, Lizzie Cantopher set a new club and county record for Ladies Recurve scoring 574, Bailey Bridgewater set a new club and county record for Recurve-bare Junior Gents under 12 in his first ever competition scoring 195, Callum Howes set a new record for Junior Gents under 12 Recurve scoring 346, Alex Howes set a new Junior under 16 Gents Flatbow record scoring 36 and Lizzie Lovell set a new Junior Ladies under 16 Recurve record scoring 383.
NAC 2nd Round Portsmouth Competition
The second round of the Portsmouth series was shot on 7th December 2013 with more new records set. Ian Hyde broke his previous Gents Flatbow record by scoring 476, Paul Hyde set a new Gents Longbow club record scoring 388, Heather Major set a new record for the Ladies Recurve-bare scoring 333, Reece Fowler-Jardine set a new Junior Gents Compound Under 16 record scoring 426, Alex Howes beat his previous score in the Junior Gents Flatbow scoring 67, Callum Howes beat his previous score in the Junior under 12 Recurve scoring 388, Joshua Allen set a new Junior Gents under 16 Recurve-bare scoring 320, Liam Rooney set a new Junior Gents under 18 Recurve-bare scoring 218, Lizzie Lovell broke her Junior Ladies Recurve under 16 club record scoring 399 and Chloe Fowler-Jardine set a new club and county Junior under 12 Recurve-barebow scoring 191.
NAC 3rd Round Portsmouth Competition
The third round of the Portsmouth series was shot on 11th January 2014. Sarah Fowler-Jardine set a new Ladies Compound scoring 544 beating her previous score, George Bond set a new Junior Gents under 18 Recurve-bare record scoring 306, Joshua Allen broke his previous record scoring 334 in the Junior Gents under 16 Recurve-bare, Lizzie Lovell broke her previous Junior Ladies under 16 Recurve record scoring 456, Chloe Fowler-Jardine broke her previous club and county record Junior under 12 Recurve-barebow scoring 271 and Niamh Young set a new club and county Ladies Junior under 16 Recurve-barebow scoring 172.
